Any talk of Sania Mirza brings a smile on the face of the genial Swiss Patty Schnyder. "She's a great player, she has a big forehand and she's exciting to watch," the world number 12 said after getting taste of the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association courts, venue for the $600,000 Bangalore Open.
The 29-year-old veteran has played Sania twice and they share a 1-1 record. "In Switzerland it's very different, people are calmer, they don't get so excited about success and major victories like here in India, where Sania is very big. We get to hear about some of the stories on Sania. We don't talk to her about it because she obviously likes being around people who don't keep talking about it," Schnyder said. |
