Sania should concentrate fully on her game, nothing else: Connors

Tennis legend Jimmy Connors today opined that the downfall of Sania Mirza has been because ''she might be thinking of other things than concentrating only on her game''.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion, who was speaking here after inking an MoU with Solaris to start India's first Sports Resort in Pune, said that a player should only think of winning and other things would follow automatically.
On a question regarding the slip in rankings of India's tennis star Sania Mirza, Connors replied, ''Once a player starts thinking of other things than tennis, they would never succeed. In my life, I've just thought of winning and the rest followed, one should only concentrate on the game.'' He, however, added that he had observed Sania playing and was sure she would regroup and make it to her earlier ranking. ''Women's tennis has gone up leaps and bounds, and players are more powerful now than earlier and it needed more than hard work to be at that level,'' he added.
